SLR Consulting Australia Pty Ltd (SLR) is an employee-controlled international environmental consultancy with a globally recognised reputation for providing high quality tailored services. We provide global consultancy advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Ecology team based in Sydney.

Our team of ecologists works collaboratively to provide specialist ecology services and we work alongside other specialist teams in SLR to deliver a variety of multidisciplinary projects throughout NSW. Our core services include ecological surveys and assessment (terrestrial), vegetation mapping, rehabilitation monitoring programs, vegetation management plans, Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) assessments, expert advice, due diligence and constraints assessments, and threatened species surveys and management plans.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role

  • Providing advice to clients and internal SLR team members
  • Working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors
  • Provide lead technical role for designing and implementing a variety of field-based studies
  • Developing, facilitating and enhancing effective relationships with our clients and internal SLR team members
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of team business plans and strategies
  • Be self-sufficient and have demonstrated business development skill set in a consulting environment
  • Delivering clear and precise, high-quality reports

To be successful in this role, you will be a positive and engaging individual, as well as have:

  • A degree in Biological Science, Environmental Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience
  • BAM training, accreditation and experience in applying the BAM within NSW
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines
  • Demonstrated experience managing or engaging with multidisciplinary projects
  • Previous experience conducting some or all of the core services described above
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia
  • Excellent driving history and hold a current driver's license
