How will I help?

This role is part of our EmPower Up return to work program, created for people who have had career break of 2 years or more and are now looking to return to the workforce.

This role is responsible for advising Westpac business and IT units on Information Security with specific focus on the areas of penetration testing and vulnerability management. This role will report into the Manager, Penetration Testing Services.

Your role will include:

  • Perform Penetration Testing using various tools and techniques, produce written reports outlining identified vulnerabilities and associated recommendations, and governing security remediation efforts
  • Identifying and advising on requirements for business processes, applications, and products to ensure that Westpac continues to be protected against current and emerging threats
  • Liaising effectively with Westpac's business partners and third-party service providers as required
  • Advising on the development, implementation and maintenance of security policies, procedures, standards, governance frameworks and strategies, and assisting with development of security tools to ensure that Westpac operates within the established risk appetite
  • Investigate, respond to, resolve, and report on security incidents/ issues, and advise on and direct implementation of governance frameworks to ensure that incidents/events are actioned promptly based on their risk level.
  • Lead, develop and grow a team in accordance with Westpac's people principles and processes

What do I need?

  • Experience in information / Application security, information technology, risk management, or equivalent role and performing advanced network, application, mobile and infrastructure level penetration testing
  • Experience in identifying and documenting security requirements and writing Penetration Testing reports and communicating identified vulnerabilities to the internal stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM related to Information security and implementing automated security testing tools and processes
  • Strong expertise in Software development and Risk analysis/Threat modelling
  • Solid understanding of one or more of the following Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Knowledge of Container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and OpenShift is favourable.
  • Experience implementing automated security testing tools and processes
  • Formal education or certification in Penetration Testing (such as OSCP, OSCE, CREST or Advanced SANS Penetration Testing)
